Sierra Savannah Mayer born July 19th at 8 pounds 3 ounces 20 1/2 in. long. We went into the Payson Hospital at 6 am monday morning to be induced. We were started on pitocin around 9 am and my water broke on its own around 11 am or so-the nurse checked me a while after and I was dilated to a 6. I asked for an epidural and was told he would be there soon. Contractions started coming fast and hard, and I was in a great deal of pain waiting for the anesthesiologist that they insisted would be there in one minute. I kept insisting to the nurses that the baby was pushing, and they said the last time they checked the baby was at a -1 and that it was just pressure from the contraction. The anesthesiologist finally showed up and made me roll over on my other side and I yelled that the baby was coming, Brigham pulled back the covers (because the nurse still didn't believe me) and sure enough the babies head popped out to their surprise!! The nurses freaked out, I freaked out and they called the doctor. Sierra came at 11:23 am, the doctor arrived in time to clean me up and we all took a long nap after!! Our first natural birth-very unplanned, but one we will always remember and hopefully never repeat!!

our Welcome home Mom and Sierra sign from the kids on the garage-so cute!!
